We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We've all been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Dentistry has been at the forefront of infection control for nearly four decades. In fact, as of July 4th, the WHO and CDC have reported that WORLDWIDE, not a single case of Covid-19 has been transmitted in a dental office environment. That's pretty impressive!
We want to let you know about some changes to our procedures, following ADA and CDC guidelines, designed to best protect our patients and staff. We are constantly monitoring recommendations as well as the situation in our particular corner of the world.
Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some screening questions. You'll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. Don't come if you have had a recent cough, sneezing, chest pain, or fever.
If possible, come to your appointment by yourself. We want to minimize the population of the reception area. We've also removed all reading material there to minimize "touch" objects.
If you arrive early, please stay in your vehicle until it's time for your appointment. (You know from experience we're likely to be on time.)
Please bring and use your own mask or other face covering until you reach the treatment area, and replace your mask before leaving the treatment room.
We will provide hand sanitizer as soon as you enter. We'll also take your temperature.
We'll do our best to allow enough time to allow social distancing between patients. We're trying to stagger appointment times so two patients don't arrive at the same time.
In some areas, we're using more hand instruments instead of ultrasonic to decrease mists, although ultrasonics can't be eliminated completely. Plus, we routinely use rubber dams as we always have for most restorative treatment that involves water spray with high speed instruments. (We've always done this.......it's new for most dental offices.)
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please our office at (573) 449-7483.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
